• We’re seniors and going through the typical age-related things of failing memories and reduced hearing at certain frequencies. Alexa has been the solution to many of those issues.
• We have reminders to take our pills, reminders for appointments and all similar things. It keeps our food shopping lists.
• Because of the sound frequency, we have trouble hearing the stove timer or the microwave timer. Alexa to the rescue.
• Being voice command activated, it’s perfect for seniors who might have limited technical skills.
• The music quality is surprisingly good for the size of the unit. We bought an additional music upgrade so we can make up playlists without using third party apps. Again, good for seniors.
• We’ve now added an Echo Dot as a bedside clock and alarm. Again, being voice activated there’s no fiddling with buttons or settings that you might screw up and Santa is bringing one for the kitchen with the outlet holder to extend the music to there and some recipes too.

When you are at home, use Alexa as a hearing aid and hear as well as Alexa can hear.

1. Most of the time, you are at home. Wouldn’t you love to hear like Alexa when you’re at home? Alexa’s listening performance is exceptional because Alexa uses between four and six microphones to be able to hear everything that is being said around her.
2. Just because Alexa can hear well, even at a distance, doesn’t mean that you can hear Alexa’s responses from a distance if you are hard of hearing.
3. At home, with your audio-assistant hearing aid and the use of Alexa as a microphone, you can hear as well as Alexa can hear, even from a distance, at an incredibly low cost. This will cost you the price of two Alexa’s, as two Alexa’s are required to use our setup.

Use one of our two models Lk-001-S or LK-003-S to hear Alexa remotely.

• To be able to use Alexa as a hearing aid, we will be using Alexa features that will allow you to use Alexa as an intercom.
• The Alexa intercom function allows communication between two Alexa devices without having to use the magic word “Alexa”.
• When the “Drop in” function is used between two devices, the two devices are constantly listening to each other. What is said in a room where there is an Alexa, is broadcast in another room where the second Alexa is located. Again, without having to pronounce the magic word “Alexa”.
• By using the auxiliary outputs (AUX) of Alexa we can pick up directly at the source, the sounds sent by Alexa to the second device.
• For this, the blue transmitter (“The-Movable-Ear”) is connected to the Alexa AUX interface which issued the DROP IN command to the second device.
• The audio cable supplied with the LK-001-S set is used to connect Alexa and the transmitter.
• This connection allows the orange “I-Hear-You” receiver to also receive the sounds emitted by Alexa via its companion, the blue transmitter.
• Put the headset of your choice on the orange receiver and listen to what is being said in the room.

Use Alexa privately

• Ask Alexa questions or voice your requests and only you can hear the answers. Alexa becomes private.
• To do this, connect your Alexa to the blue transmitter using the audio cable provided.
• Connect an earphone to your orange receiver.
• Put the transmitter and receiver on the same channel between 1 and 50.
• Now you can ask your questions and requests in privacy, and you will also receive answers in privacy.
