What is a traditional hearing aid?

A hearing aid is a small electronic device that you wear in or behind your ear.

A hearing aid has three basic parts: a microphone, an amplifier, and a speaker. The hearing aid receives sound through a microphone, which converts the sound waves to electrical signals and sends them to an amplifier via a wire. The amplifier increases the power of the signals and then sends them to the ear through a speaker.

More over you can adjust your device only in the limit set-up by your audiologist or manufacturer

Once you have bought your device you cannot change the microphone, the amplifier and the speaker which are the three parts that compose your hearing aid. More over they need to be readjusted by specialist.

The three components are inserted in your ear or in the back of your ear.

These listening aids have a drawback. Hearing aids process the sound waves only when the waves have reached the hearing aid which are in or behind your ear. This means that the farther you are from the sound source, the waves emanating from the source are more likely to be impacted by the distance and the surrounding noise before being processed.

The traditional listening aids design does not let you hear clearly from a distance.

How is Audio-kit a different Hearing aid?

Audio-kit hearing aid is a set of small electronic devices that you do not wear in or behind your ear.

Audio-kit has the three basic component parts  using UHF, FM and Bluetooth technology.

Audio-kit Microphones are external microphones that connect wirelessly to  audio-kit hearing aids to allow the user to better hear in various situations

“Because the microphone in a hearing aid sits behind or in the ear (depending on the hearing aid model) most of the sounds that get transmitted to the brain are ones that can be picked up easily by the ear. Research shows that devices using UHF, FM and Bluetooth  technologies,  allow hearing aid users to hear 10 times better  in noise and over distance than people with normal hearing.”

Audio-kit microphones devices come in a variety of microphone designs. The Directional is shaped like a pen and useful for directional voice conversations. The Omnidirectional is useful for conversations around the dinner table, as it sits on a table and picks up voices in the circle. Both the Directional and the Omnidirectional microphones  are useful in classroom settings, as a teacher can wear them around their neck, allowing her voice to stream directly to a student’s hearing aids. The Personal is a headphone with a microphone for privacy conversation between two speakers using hearing aid.

Audio-kit hearing aid receivers come in a variety of receiver designs.

The Red Receiver hearing aid is capable to receive sound from the three audio-kit microphones from a distance up to 80m. Using its 3.5m jack any earphone of the market with a 3.5mm jack can be used by the impaired person. Using the Bluetooth adapter any Bluetooth earphone of the market can be used. Moreover, by using a Personal microphone private conversation can be held.

The Orange Receiver hearing aid is capable to receive sound from the three audio-kit microphones from a distance up to 150m. Using its 3.5m jack any earphone of the market with a 3.5mm jack can be used by the impaired person. Using the Bluetooth adapter any Bluetooth earphone of the market can be used. No two way conversations
